The campsite as a whole was awesome. Sites were spaced so even if you had someone next to you, it didn’t feel like it. The tent pad was a brilliant addition so no one had to fight over who got the sloped side or the root in their back! Bathrooms were close by without encroaching on sites and were among the best I’ve had when camping. (Only downside was no hand dryer… which i understand but don’t generally like having to use my shirt.)
Best part of the stay though was actually the Park Ranger. Sadly we didn’t catch her name, but the ranger stationed at the campground was AMAZING! My husband and I had a few things we hoped to do during our stay, so when we checked in he asked for directions to one place and she grabbed a map of the park and told him how to get there. She then proceeded to make suggestions of the best places to try that were similar, circled everything she thought would be of interest to us or our 5 year old, told us which places and routes to avoid, gave us shortcuts, and even offered up something to do on our way out of town as we continued on our road trip. Beautiful campground, but incredible rangers who pointed us to the most beautiful drive we’ve ever taken. We liked it enough that we’re now planning to go back as we make our way back home.

Beautiful nature encounter. Park staff helpful and kind. Camping locations, restrooms clean and spacious. Nature trails well marked and amazing. Hike to Mt Cammerer Lookout Tower was strenuous and hard but worth every painful hour for this 70 year old.
