I took a group of 55 middle school students to visit Cosby Campground. While there we grilled hotdogs, hiked the 1-mile nature trail loop, and participated in programs conducted by park rangers. The Cosby picnic area was clean and the restrooms were spotless as well. The park ranger on duty was nice and helpful when my students asked questions about the nature trail. We also truly enjoyed the rangers who came to do the educational programs for my students. They were fun and informative! Cosby Campground is beautiful and well maintained, and the nature trail is just rugged enough—with a few streams to cross & plenty of forest fauna—to give visitors the feeling of being immersed in nature.

The built in counter/table at the end of the pavilion is perfect for setting up food so the tables can be used for seating

The pavilion needs to be cleaned each time. Hikers often take all parking spaces instead of using the upper parking lot. Sadly, there are no electrical outlets so you can't use crock pots to keep food warm.
