Salt Lick Creek campground offers a peaceful and beautiful setting with spacious, well-maintained sites and friendly staff, making it a favorite for many campers. The clean facilities, abundant wildlife, and serene waterfront views enhance the overall experience, perfect for those looking to disconnect. While some reviewers noted issues with shower house cleanliness and limited cell service, the positive aspects, including safety and tranquility, consistently shine through.

We love our trips to Salt Lick Creek. The only thing that we do not like is that we have no cell phone service there.

Stayed in site 103. The higher numbers are in a newer section. The sites are level, but are challenging to get into. If you want to be able to see/access the lake, stay in the lower numbers. Bring everything you need need with you, because it's an hour round trip to Carthage for supplies.

The campground was so peaceful. The basketball court gave the kids something to do. The bath house near us was clean. Can’t wait to camp again at Salt Lick.

Still would like to see a hiking trail added. The amount of cars going round and round and round was less, a big improvement. But one note: a fellow at one site (glad it wasn't near us) had six dogs on his site (3 small and 3 large). We were walking near by and stopped to talk to the fellow in the adjoining site and he mentioned that he was disappointed to be camping next to a "kennel"! Surely some kind of limit should be put on the number of dogs one site can have.

Really quiet camp ground. Had an electrical issue with a bad breaker and the folks at guard shack let us have an adapter to get us through until the electrician could come and fix it.
