Very nice location, riverside is best but all campsites are great. Quiet, small campground kind of remote which I like but with just enough signal to text family that you made it. I will stay here again when I return to the Smoky Mountains.

What are the best spots in the Smokies. One has to make sure that if they want a nine or anywhere on the Creekside to get way ahead of the curve and make reservations a couple months to a few months out. Otherwise strongly suggest bringing a hammock in addition to a tent!

The campground is my favorite in the entire gsmnp except for the road going to it is a nightmare and needs to be fixed asap

Couldn't even get down into the campground the road was very bad they had even posted that you must have 4 wheel drive. We had to back up from the first curve. Because there was a hole so deep across the road.

The campground was right on the creek which was great for playing in (my boys are 10, 8, 7 and 5). Many of the sites were empty so it was nice and quiet which was great. The bathrooms were well maintained and there was a small sink to do dishes in which was nice.

We had site 2. I will say it is hard to find the barriors of this site, but overall it was very nice. If you have a larger vehicle I recommend driving the circle where you can back in. This site does sit a little ways from the river. During our trip we drove to Cades Cove and hiked to Abrams Falls and enjoyed our diver around the cove. Loved stopping through Townsend. We have Verizon cell service and we had no cell signal so make sure you have a good map or download a map for the area as this can be a little hard to find if you have never been before.

The campsite itself was fine, but the road to get to it was sketchy. Deep ruts, narrow road, bumpy, quite scary when towing a trailer. It was only for a short distance, but still not a road I want to travel on towing a trailer.

The sites along the creek at this campground are very pretty! Amenities are great, easy enough to find dead and down wood, and not difficult to find!

There is no street address for this campground North: From I-40 take US-129/Alcoa Highway through Maryville, TN. Continue South on US-129 until mile marker 14.3 (Foothills Parkway exit). Proceed .5 miles beyond Foothills Parkway turning left onto Happy Valley Road. Turn Right onto Abram's Creek Road passing the Abram's Creek Ranger Station. The campground is approximately .5 miles beyond the ranger station. South: Continue North on US-129 where US-19/74/129 split, heading towards Robbinsville, NC. Near mile marker 14 in Tennessee turn Right onto Happy Valley Road (about 05 miles before the Foothills Parkway). Turn Right onto Abram's Creek Road passing the Abram's Creek Ranger Station. The campground is approximately .5 miles beyond the ranger station.
Abram's Creek Campground is accessible via US-129, which connects to I-40. The campground is located approximately 14.3 miles from the Foothills Parkway exit on US-129.
