Abram's Creek Campground

The campground was secluded and simply wonderful. We had a waterfront campsite that was easy to park in, easy to pitch a tent on, and was plenty far away from the other sites to give us a sense of seclusion. While we loved the fact that it was off the beaten path a tad, I will warn that if you are weary of small, curvy, mountain roads then this might not be the site for you. Also, if you plan on buying firewood then make sure you get it in town! It is a decent ways to the campground from town, and there were no other places to get firewood except in town. Hiking trails are all around, fish were abundant in the creek, and Look Rock and the Foothills Parkway were just right down the road. We LOVED our stay here. We will definitely be returning soon.

Great campground, was not crowded even in the middle of the season. A great base camp to see surrounding area. Very clean and well kept.

This place has brought the memories we have been searching for as a family. I would recommend having all you need before you go as this is just a lovely place to park and stay.

We loved the campground. It was just as the pictures showed. Small number of sites, well maintained and quiet. The only downside is part of the upside - the location is far from other areas of the park by car. As long as you know what you are getting, it is a great place to stay.

Quite, remote place. Got to relax and enjoy the landscape with family. Close to riverside. Plenty of close trails to walk.

Awesome place to camp!

Buy wood nearby and bring it in. No place to purchase firewood for miles! Absolutely lovely place to camp. No ranger on attendance.

The area was beautiful and clean. The first night there a bunch of kids came in about 11:00 that night which completely changed the experience for ALL the campers there. They were loud (unpacking) drinking and proceeded to “party” until 7:00 the next morning. I don’t think anyone got any sleep. Using the phone at the rangers station that morning, we called and rangers were there within 30 minutes. They “kids” were asked to leave and were indeed gone by the time we return from our hike later that afternoon. Had they not left we would not have stayed or second night. We were glad to see that that situation was handled and our second night there was much more pleasant.

It's so remote it's awesome! It was so peaceful and quiet. A picturesque steam by in the mountains. The next time I'm in the area I will definitely stay there again.

The campground is very nice and the facilities ,though basic, are functional. There is no signal at the site but there is a call box to contact emergency personnel. One problem and a solution was that our tent site was located immediately by the path to the lavatory and a scant 15 ft from the next sites fire ring location. There was a reunion of sorts going on there and, though not loud, the other campers talked around the campfire until 2 am making it hard to sleep. If the tent platfom could be moved to the other side of the site, away from neighboring activity it would help make that site
to be as enjoyable as the others.
