About Paint Creek Campground

Paint Creek Recreation Area (elevation 1760 feet) is located in Greene County in a mountain cove along Paint Creek. A majority of the widely-spaced campsites have streamside views and are screened by a variety of native plants, including rhododendron, hemlock and laurel. Be Bear Wise: Food storage compliance is strictly enforced. Store all food and trash in hard-sided containers and vehicles while not in use. Never have attractants in your tent. Violations of the food storage order are ticketable offenses and subject to fines. Food and trash left unattended will be impounded by campground staff.

Absolutely loves our stay. The camp host was friendly and kind. Campground including bathrooms were clean, quiet and gorgeous. All sites had plenty of shape and breathtaking views of the creek. Overall we felt very safe and will be back for another stay.

Our family has been going to Paint Creek for over 45 years. It is the perfect place to get away from it all. Don't go expecting electricity and luxury bathrooms with showers. Bring your lantern and a bucket to carry water to your campsite, Then sit back, relax by the fire, and let nature recharge your soul.

Beautiful campground. The Creek that wraps around the campground provides a white noise that helps all the stress fade away, as you relax in a wonderful serene setting. Host was top notch, and loves helping. I look forward to enjoying this campground for years to come.

Off the beaten path. Nice for a primitive campground but the road in and out is narrow and not suitable for large trailers or 5th wheels.
