What Guests Are Saying
Rock Creek Recreation Area is highly praised for its peaceful and spacious campsites, excellent amenities like electricity, and access to beautiful hiking and biking trails. Many visitors enjoyed the clean facilities, friendly campground hosts, and the scenic wooded surroundings. While some noted minor issues such as limited water flow at spigots and lack of phone service, these were overshadowed by the overall positive experiences and the intention to return.

I consider this campground state park quality but in a National Forest. The sites are well spaced and reasonably well maintained. I was happy to know it had running hot and cold water. But was disappointed with the cleanliness of the bathrooms. I’d stay there again but bring my own big container of wipes.

The campground is beautiful. The hiking is amazing. Unfortunately with only 1 camp host things don't get done on a daily bases. With the Covid virus it is very concerning to use a bath house in general. That being said, I know the risk and choose to do so. We arrived on a Sunday to all the bathhouses having clogged toilets. ALL OF THEM. They had over flowed onto the floor. I would not even use the shower it was so gross. It was not till Monday AFTERNOON that they unclogged them. Mind you they didn't clean the floors. We go to a lot of parks and campgrounds and this was the worst we have ever seen.

We love this campground and have camped here for many years.
It is beautiful. Nice spacious, private campsites. But it has changed in the past few years.
The water spigot near our campsite did not work and neither did the one in the tent site area.
Made it very difficult to get water.
We camped there in October of last year and they were working on that same spigot. Still not fixed!
The fire ring was full of ash. The bath houses were not clean.
Sad to see such a beautiful campground go unattended and uncared for.
