What Guests Are Saying
Rock Creek Recreation Area is highly praised for its peaceful and spacious campsites, excellent amenities like electricity, and access to beautiful hiking and biking trails. Many visitors enjoyed the clean facilities, friendly campground hosts, and the scenic wooded surroundings. While some noted minor issues such as limited water flow at spigots and lack of phone service, these were overshadowed by the overall positive experiences and the intention to return.

We really enjoyed tent camping at Rock Creek Recreation Area. We stayed at Site 13, Loop B. The bathroom and shower facilities were conveniently located near our site. The hosts were very friendly.

We had a good stay because we like Rock Creek because of spacious sites and distance from other sites. What we didn't like on this trip is the new hosts. They are not very friendly. I had an electrical problem the first night told them the next day, he said he would be up to look at it but never showed up. Had the same problem two more times the second night with power going off. The woman host came by the next day and said I had to wait on forest service to come fix the problem. Finally got it fixed. The hosts that was there on Memorial Day weekend were a lot more helpful and friendlier than the new hosts. I also don't like the fact that they have removed all lantern posts. Whoever runs Rock Creek needs to do some service work in various places. The dump station hose and fresh water hose both need to be fixed properly instead of patching things. The sink in bathroom near the pond was out of service also.

We had site 28 in loop C which fit our camper but getting into it was challenging. Loved the park as it was so quiet and a good 10 degrees cooler than the temps in Erwin. We will definitely stay again only in a different site that is easier to back into.
