It's such a quiet and lovely atmosphere. Zero complaints. Not one. We will come back the next time we are available!!! My husband and I had such a wonderful time.

We had a problem when we booked the site: our senior pass did not work for 1/2 off the rate. No problem, we thought - the same thing happened a couple of days earlier, and the park host was kind enough to fix the problem in the morning after our stay. At this campground, the hosts checked us out in the morning WITHOUT our knowledge BEFORE we could even ask them to make the adjustment . (For both campgrounds, we arrived too late in the evening to meet any host). The hosts at this campground were EXTREMELY rude, and told us that since we were already checked out (without our knowledge), there was nothing they could do. Their attitude and rudeness were quite shocking. Eventually, the park ranger was able to do her magic and refund us the $16. The campground was quite nice, but the behavior of this couple left a bad taste in our mouths.

Despite beautiful location, we will never book at this or any corps campground ever again due to the alarmingly poor policies and treatment of travelers. I had booked a same day reservation that morning, however, due to severe weather and accident-related traffic on I40 we didn't actually make it there by the evening. Not wanting to miss the opportunity to view the park which had been recommended to us, and also because we needed to fill up water and dump the tank anyways, we decided to check-in the following morning to enjoy the view, cook lunch, and relax before another long day of driving. Our short stay was anything but relaxing, as during our 75 minutes on property we were harassed twice -- first by a woman asking us why we hadn't arrived earlier in the day and asserting she was moving into that particular site later in the day (and I'm still unclear as to why I needed to know that information) and, after we had moved to the parking lot before 12pm to eat our cooked lunch, one of the hosts (not the individual who checked us in) who told us that we had 5 minutes to wrap it up and actually be off premises by 12pm, as it was corps policy to not only vacate campsite by 12pm, but to exit the park as well. First time and last time at a corps park -- we'll be sticking to "silly-rule-free, traveler-friendly" National and State Parks moving forward.
