Beautiful and well-maintained campground. The only negative was when, after setting up my tent for my stay the first night and then going back out into town, I returned around 11:30 PM to find the gate to get into the campground closed. After turning right around, heading back into town and getting a hotel room for $160, I returned to the campground the next morning and as I passed the checkpoint booth, I explained what had happened to the 2 people working. They merely replied that the gate wasn't locked and that it is closed at 10 PM every night to keep out the 'look-ee-loos'. Since I don't like opening gates I didn't expect to find closed, I told them I wish I had known this in the form of a sign on the booth or on this website. They didn't offer any explanation or apology. Weird. Would love the $160 I didn't even have back (had to use a credit card).

This is one of the nicest campgrounds we have ever stayed. Driving in, you pass through a neighborhood so we weren't sure but what a nice surprise. The sites are very level and paved where the camper parks and gravel where you picnic. Each site has nice table and fire pit. Some of the interior sites have a water view. You can tell each site is cleaned after each stay. Lots of older mature trees and plenty of space between sites. If you need restroom/showers, they are a bit far from the sites but if you're in a camper, that is not a big deal. It is about 1/2 hour drive from the Broadway strip. A family of deer watched us as we used the dump before we left. We truly wished we could have stayed longer. Great job to the Corp of Engineers!
