Good campground with good proximity to Sunset Marina and Restaurant. Be aware the seems to be no enforced check in time other than the check out time of existing campers. Well before 2pm rolls around expect new guests wanting you to checkout so they can check in.

As always when we camp at Obey River Campground we feel very safe. Our camp host Lisa and Jeff work hard to keep the campground family friendly.

This year was a challenge with the closing of the campground due to the tornado. BUT there was an employee, Kenny, who was VERY helpful and allowed us to drop our camper in the large parking lot because we came in the day before the park was to open. He also said that we could come in as early as we wanted. They missed us/campers and was ready to welcome us back. That really put our 10 day yearly vacation to a great start.

Great staff, great location.
Weather was bad, and even dangerous but this is in no was the fault of this campground or staff.
They had to close camp sights due to raising water levels. Better safe than sorry.

Bad weather and rising lake water made for a sad trip this year.

We booked campsite 059 at Obey River Campground and it rained for 3 days and completely flooded our campsite. It was shin-deep water. When we approached the staff about maybe digging below the concrete to let the water drain away from our tent, they said, “I’m sorry there’s nothing we can do about it because this is the way the site is built and it’s really only a site for emergencies anyways so it’s not supposed to be rented out.”
This was our first time camping here and needless to say, we’re unimpressed with the attitude of staff. They did allow us to move campsites, but it wasn’t worth packing up everything we had, taking down our tent and setting up everything on a different site for us to stay only 2 more nights. We spent an entire day moving, which was a day wasted.

Dale Hollow is beautiful! I love how peaceful it can be! Jeff and Lisa are wonderful people! They always make our trip even better! They are so kind and friendly! The Marina has plenty of essentials to offer which makes it the perfect place to camp!
