We went at the end of August. It was the most beautiful area we’ve been to so far. Our site was on a hill overlooking the River. Very peaceful and not busy. We will probably be returning.

Very nice stay. Lots of debris from flooding takes away from the beauty of the park. Bath house is adequate, in need of repairs, but cleaned daily.

Obey River campground is my favorite place to camp in the Upper Cumberland area of Tennessee. It is conveniently located near Hwy 111 and just a short drive from Byrdstown where there are stores and restaurants. They also have a restaurant at Sunset Marina along with a store and gasoline if you need to fill up your boat or jet ski. The campground also has it’s own boat ramp which is very convenient. Dale Hollow lake is beautiful and we almost always see a bald eagle or two when out on the lake. Jeff and Lisa Harper are wonderful camp attendants. I highly recommend Obey River as a campsite destination.
