Love obey river campground. Wish sites were easier to find and not always booked. Don't like to go anywhere else to camp.

My family and I always enjoy camping at Obey River campground. It is conveniently located next to beautiful Dale Hollow lake and Sunset Marina. The campground attendants are always friendly and helpful. We love the atmosphere within the campground as the people are friendly and courteous. The campground is also well maintained and clean. There are also some nice hometown restaurants in nearby Byrdstown with delicious food. We especially like the Dixie Cafe and the Farmhouse Restaurant. If you need and last minute supplies there are also several stores in Byrdstown that have groceries and such. The lake is my favorite part. Dale Hollow is a beautiful clean lake with good fishing especially early morning and late evening.

Clean well keeped park access to swimming boating clean restrooms one of the core of engineers/ rangers stopped by and and asked if I could fill out a questionnaire and under comments of what I would have improved I wrote in ceiling fans in the rest room for better ventilation for cool air.4 hours later I went to the restroom and they installed a ceiling fan omg that was quick I'm guessing they really care about their park and your opinion

Gorgeous campground. Working remote can be tough at times, camping for pleasure is amazing. I enjoyed the water front sites. This is a campground to highly consider it has a charm.

We stayed on a waterfront campsite with a great view of the lake. If you like to boat/fish, this is the place to visit. On the weekend, people come here for cookouts and time on the beach. It's a great place to have fun and relax.

I had problems with Rec.gov log in. I was trying to book another day and could not log in. I was very frustrated!!! The camp host Jeff was great and assured me that I would get a site, and he was able to calm me down and reminded me that I was on vacation. He went above and beyond to make sure I got a good site. The camp ground was very clean, the sites were easy access and nice views. I will definitively return.

Jeff, Lisa,Carl, and Linda do an excellent job taking care of the campground! (Dale Hollow Obey River Campground)
But the system of making reservations on line 6 months ahead does not allow favorite campsites to be available. Some people are given special favors in reserving these sites?. This practice has been going on for many years. We have been camping at Obey River for 49 years so we have experience this problem for a long time.
