The campground is consistently family friendly. My seven year old loves the playground and, in hot weather, swimming in the lake. The bath house is generally quite clean. We keep coming back because we keep having great times at this campground.

We have been camping at this park for more than 15 years and we have never been treated like we were this year, and that's not a good thing! They have a man at the guard shack that thinks he's God. He screamed at us and embarrassed us in front of a whole park full of people and on top of that he himself, the police and park rangers kept checking on us for our entire week's stay to see what we were doing, so for lack of a better term they spied on us for our entire trip there. And it was all over the type of wood that we brought to burn at the campsite. Which we researched before we came but he wouldn't believe us and then after telling us that he was going to call the police on us to remove us and telling us how wrong we were about the type of wood that we could bring in there he brought a park ranger to our site to investigate the type of wood that we had. The park ranger took one look at the wood and said it was fine. You would think a man working at a park that can tell people what type of wood they're allowed to bring in would actually know what type of wood they're allowed to bring in! He ruined our entire trip and we will never go back because of him, which is an absolute shame because it's our favorite campground that we've been to in the state of Tennessee.

Swimming at this location was great, and Easy boat ramp to use; the staff was very kind and helpful, the bathrooms were clean, and the campground was quiet in the evening and the morning. My wife and I celebrated a wedding anniversary, and we could not have been in a better place to create more memories. Great job, Obey River Park!

Jeff and Lisa are the two best attendants we have ever had. We’ve camped all over Tennessee and Florida and none can compare them
