We had a great week. Arrived on a Saturday and had reservations for 8 nights, however we pulled out a night eatly due to the amount off additional campers that had arrived on Thursday and because Bandy Creek campground only had 1 dumping station and we didn't want to wait in line to dump our waste.
If you enjoy a quite campground with privacy Bandy Creek is exceptional. Weekends seemed to be their busiest times (Thursday- Sunday). Plenty of camp spaces to choose from and excellent bath houses; clean with great hot water for showers.
We hiked the trails around the campground and rode bikes too.
Enjoyed our stay.

Our stay at Bandy Creek Campground was unacceptable and reflects poor management.
We paid for a full hookup site, yet arrived to a leaking water spigot. When we reported it, the camp host showed no urgency and told us not to use it—essentially expecting us to go without a service we paid for instead of fixing the issue.
The situation got worse the next morning when a maintenance worker knocked on our camper door twice before 7:30am, then came back 15 minutes later and knocked again, waking our entire family, including our 2-year-old. There was no prior notice, and there is no excuse for repeatedly disturbing guests that early over a non-emergency repair considering they wasn’t concerned the day before when it was reported.
Between the lack of response, poor communication, and complete disregard for guests, this was a very disappointing experience. Management needs to do better. Needless to say our toddlers sleep schedule being disturbed ruined our whole day.

The event was great. The rain did make a dent in the plans. The bathrooms do need some updates. The bugs were crazy thick and poison ivy at the camp sites needed some attention. Also in C19 the water has made a huge hole in the edge of the site next to the fire place.

For the supposd scary driving, the campground is just average.
I will now try another part of the park (north, the mining area)
Thanks

Clean and quiet. Restrooms were well maintained. Camp sights were nice with wooded separation.

Bandy Creek campground is a gem! We loved our campsite!! Clean bathhouses, the playgrounds are a big draw for the kids. We loved the stables, the visitors center and the camp store. Fantastic experience all around!

Bandy Creek NEVER disappoints! This was the first of what will likely be three total visits to Big South Fork NRRA this year. IMHO Bandy Creek has the best showers in the entire National Park system. They are always clean and well maintained. The roads and trails around Bandy were all in superb condition, with the potholes in the gravel roads having been freshly filled this spring. The stairs and ladders around Twin Arches have been rebuilt since our visit last year. We are looking forward to the O&W road being opened later this spring to make visits to the O&W Bridge easier (although, it is a very pleasant walk from Leatherwood Ford down to the Bridge). I can't wait to go back!
