What Guests Are Saying
Blue Heron Campground is well-maintained, peaceful, and offers clean facilities, making it a favorite for many visitors. The proximity to hiking trails, especially the Blue Heron Loop, adds to its appeal. While some campers noted noise from nearby children and the absence of a campground host, the overall atmosphere is friendly and the campground provides a great outdoor experience.

Camp host was very nice, but small campgrounds and I’d give their bathrooms a 0 star.

We love Blue Heron Campground because the sites are not on top of each other. We stayed on site 2. The first 3 sites are nice and level with lots of grass behind for children to play. We have stayed on other sites at Blue Heron that were also roomy and level. We love camping at BSF because it is less crowded than other parks and the hiking trails are great. Also, it is always well maintained.
We enjoyed the Blue Heron Mining camp and hiked several of the trails around the mining camp. The overlooks right past the campground were well worth the small walk. This was a short trip and did not make it to Yahoo Falls, but we have been there before and it is a great hike. On this trip, we went to Cumberland Falls which is about 45 minutes away and is well worth the drive.

We had an extremely positive experience at Blue Heron campground. Our site was in the back of the campground, so it was private, and we backed up to the woods. The water hookup at our site was a little tricky, but everything else was perfect. Lots of trails nearby. We would definitely return to this campground.
