We stayed in site number 2 which felt a little odd because it is before the ‘entrance’ to the campground. However, it was very spacious. The restroom was extremely hot during our stay in July and was essentially unusable. Other than that it was a great stay and we enjoyed visiting Blue Heron Mine.

Blue heron is one of our favorite campgrounds. We have been coming here for over 30 years. Park is well maintained. It has bathroom facilities along with showers. Campsites are large sites. They are semi private. Most have trees between for privacy.

The bathhouse and ground were very well taken care of.
We were there on Monday- Wednesday in July. There was no camp host on duty. We hope this is not the norm. It is nice to have a host that can help with suggestions and directions. It makes us feel safer too.
It was a good campground and we would recommend.

Very nice campground with good water and electric at each site. Restrooms were kept clean. Some entry road sites had signage that they were closed due to bear activity, but people camped there anyway. There are bears and copperheads, so be mindful of the ground and use good bear procedures.

Black bears and other wildlife frequent this campground. Please keep in mind that “food” to a bear includes any item with a scent, regardless of packaging. This may consist of items that you do not consider food, such as canned goods, horse feed, bottles, drinks, soaps, cosmetics, toiletries, trash, ice chests (even when empty), and unwashed items used for preparing or eating meals. All these items must be stored properly.
Following these guidelines will keep you from getting your property confiscated from your campsite.
