Clean bathrooms and showers. Rates are fair and there is a lot of shade. Only negative is there is zero cell service and no wifi. You have to drive down the mountain to Tellico Plains if you need to use your phone.

Heads-up: If you are coming from Knoxville and using your GPS: The SIGN to the campground needs to be moved because IT IS TOO EASY to continue on the crazy windy road to Citico and miss the entrance! The camp store was NOT open every day.

This campsite has been on my bucketlist for awhile now, so I jumped at the opportunity to stay there. It was absolutely gorgeous, clean bathrooms, and reasonably priced items at the camp store. The reason for such a low rating was their firewood and hammock policy. The rules say no hammocks outside of your reserved area— which is fine since there are woods and hiking trails. But this also means not even right beside your reserved area (within 2 feet). The actual fabric of the hammock has to be inside the plot. We hung three up right beside our setup to dry out after an impromptu rainstorm and almost got three $85 tickets. And even though we kept it in the car, the firewood we purchased on site (in order to follow the rules) did nothing but smoke. In addition, we all brought our own paddleboards and were harassed for not having a life jacket on our “personal watercraft”. Oh and the 2 o’clock check in/ check out rule? It wasn’t enforced. We had the next day campers show up and kick us out about 2.5 hours before our time was up. Maybe if the hosts weren’t so busy being the hammock police they would enforce some of the other underlined and bolded rules on their sheet.
In my opinion, the rules that are currently in place cater towards the boomer and retired generation to try and keep people out. The 50+ crowd gives the younger generation so much grief about being on our smart phones; yet when we try to go outside and get away, we are met with restrictive, outdated policies and individuals who talk down to us. I won’t be returning to camp here, but encourage you to try it out if you enjoy vague rules that can change at any moment based on the hosts’ feelings.

It was the perfect location for an overnight on my motorcycle w/ my dog. Setup camp and rode a few more hours, slept and tore down before the sun was up to ride more.
Shower was warm.
