I love this campground. I have camped there for years so it’s hard to write a bad review but… it’s only one thing actually but it’s huge. The campground has a drainage issue that with any basic rain shower turns the campsite into a mud hole. It’s 80% of the sites that are affected. I camp over 15 times a year there and for the last three years it’s an issue. There is no gravel left in the sites so the water just runs from site to site and takes hours to soak in. Every site needs multiple loads of crush and run gravel and the drainage ditches needs looked into for blockages. If the sites had a good rock base then possibly the run off would not be so bad. I have a camper but for people with tents forget it if it rains as the tent from the bottom will get filled with water. Lastly 50% of the fire pits are rusted out past saving so they need replaced and the wood boarders for the sites are rotted out or broken which also causing water run off issues. I love this place and the camp host there are the best in the business. Its a Federal upkeep issue that’s been neglected. It’s years past time to spend money on rock, drainage study and basic site maintenance. It’s a full three years past time!

This was a strange trip. We have been camping here for 40 years. This time we had two sites in our name. One for us and one for my daughter and her husband for part of the time. My son and is wife for the other part. My daughter left on Wedesday morning. Before she was gone 7 hours they had someone over there trying to give them our campsite. Claiming it had been abandoned. My husband told her no it hasn't it is my site and I am right next door. We will be putting a tent up when the rain stops. The next morning (it rained before we could the tent up that night) they sent a Forest Dept employee by. We state the rules to her because we know the rules. Told her the tent would be up in the next hour now that the rain had stopped. She said who is staying there. We pointed to my son and his wife. She said they have to sleep there. Of course they will. Before this happened they had given the site next to us to a couple. When the people came who had booked the site (so 21?), they couldn't get on it because the people were gone for the day. How are they selling sites that people have paid for to other people. Our site (23) they had someone there they were trying to put on it but we had already paid for it. Yet there was another site that for 3 days only a canopy pulled down over a table with a kayak. No tent and no people but they didn't put anyone in their site. I don't know what they are trying to do but according to the rules you can't sell a site someone has paid for. It says that is at least an $80 fine. So why were they trying to sell our site that we had already paid for. It doesn't make sense.

Site was clean and ready for setup.
Recommend additional water connection in the shower to allowing for rinsing floor.
Would like to see additional hours for the camp store.
