Nice campground and restroom, please trim the Mesquite tree at site #48, the branches are way too low.

We arrived to find the site we had reserved was not large enough for our fifth wheel. Park host was very accommodating and found us another site that was long enough. Only complaint is the lack of cell service and internet. We enjoyed hiking many trails-a couple right from the campground and we drove the Maxwell Scenic Drive and hiked many trails along the way as well as in the Chisos Basin.

Our time in Big Bend NP was awesome. The Rio Grande campground was excellent. It’s well staffed with knowledgeable and friendly folks who keep the campground clean, quiet, dark and tidy. We’ll be back even tho the drive is 2,000 mi from our home.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, spacious sites, able to use generator, nice for walking dog, great location to visit Mexico for lunch, take a few hikes, short distance to several of the sites on the east side of the park.

Loved the camp site. We chose the non-generator part of the camp which is in a more secluded area among the bushes. Our site had a covered table (all a bit low, but who's complaining). The nights are very dark and we had the best sleep because of that. Loved the place.

I had a great time at big bend. hot springs in Texas!! was a great experience if you go I do recommend you are aware of the animals in the area as we did see many chayotes. The roads can be a bit rough but nothing felt too scary to travel on. I would recommend bringing spare oil and gas as the neared gas station is about 70 mi away and prices are a bit higher.

So much to do here! We spent several days seeing historic sites, hiking numerous trails, soaking in the hot springs, and enjoyed a day in Boquilles del Carmen, Mexico. Such diverse countryside!

I always enjoy my stay at Big Bend. The camp ground is clean and the bathrooms are well maintained. The only complaint I have is that the showers don’t have adequate hot water, it is warm at best. I will be visiting again in about two months.
