As always, the park was beautiful. Grounds remain well kept, bathrooms clean. Absolutely love camping here.

The park was very well kept. The boathouse came in handy during a sever thunderstorm and F-1 tornado that touched down across the lake.

Our stay was good, bathrooms were clean. Not much of a lake view but overall a nice campground.

We left the campgrounds within an hour of arrival. After talking to other campers at the site, we found out that there is NO ENTRY after hours (9pm). One of the guests stated there should be a keypad for reentry after hours, but that was not the case. The website was misleading about this matter. Not being able to return after 9, or walking over a quarter mile from gate to site with a handicapped wife after hours was totally acceptable.
The nice woman from the help desk that called me back was very understanding. She even offered to put in the request for a refund, even though I knew it was beyond the deadline. She was very pleasant.
But as expected, I received a denial notification. But that was the risk I took when I signed up for that place.
I do question whether I will take advantage of those accommodations again.

We have stayed at Cranes Mill campground many times over the years and it is always enjoyable. It took a little bit of time after we arrived to adjust the site. We needed to move from the one we first picked to a different spot. We were not able to get our motor home level so we found out which sites were still available and were able to relocate to the other site. We did not have much time to enjoy the park as we were using the facilities to visit our terminally ill nephew in Kerrville. Our stay was also interrupted by an accident between our car and a pickup just outside the park which totaled it. We were able to extend our stay long enough to get our car to a place where it could be adjusted for the insurance company. We finally got a rental car and were able to make it home near Ft.Worth. I hope to return to visit the campground when we are able to really enjoy the facilities again as we have in the past.

Our reservation started on a Tuesday. The first 2 days we had the park to ourselves, was very quiet. Things were quiet all throughout the week. Check in was easy as the host had posted our entrance ticket for us to place on the window, then drove by later to check on us. The park was mowed and clean. The restrooms were very clean and fairly well kept the whole week. We enjoyed the wildlife (deer, geese, squirrels), but were disappointed that part of the park was closed off. We understood as the lake is still very low, but would have liked to be able to drive over to other sections to see if we have easier access for bank fishing. All in all, we had a very enjoyable week.
