A very nice park with nice boat ramp, RV hookups and shower and restroom facilities. The two ladies that I had contact with at the main entrance were very courteous. My only complaint is that the shower and restroom building needed to be cleaned, and remained dirty the three days that I was there.

Park gate reception had a problem being able to identify my campsite. They had it on the board as not available for the night. I had a print out with my reservation number and he was not even able to track my reservation by the number. Did not seem to know how to use the system. Finally called someone to find out what spot to give me. Also, one toilet out of commission in the mens restroom.

We were extremely disappointed to find our reserved space had been given to a regular visitor with the same last name. After the assignment error had been confirmed we weere given the option of forcing the other campers who "had a lot of stuff unloaded" to vacate or to accept a remaining spot. Our reservation was for what I consider to be the sight most conveniently located to the fishing dock and had the best lake view. Not wanting to be rude, we accepted the worst view and had to drive to the dock option. We left early and did not enjoy our stay. Putting the responsibility for having the "regulars" move on us rather than on the park personnel who allowed them to take our spot was not appreciated. Since the "regulars" had knowingly taken our space, we had no way of knowing what their attitude would be since staff told them the decision to make them move would be ours. This was our first trip in our motor home and to the park. We were planning to share pictures of our first outing as is customary with our travel group. We did not .

Always like coming to this park, it being on the lake makes it really nice to relax.

We were there for two nights and three days at site 52, 2. We had a spectacular lake front view with plenty of shade which is important in this Texas heat. We were able to walk down to the lake to swim with our dogs. This side of the site, the sunset is AMAZING. We were in awe both nights. In the mornings, the sunrise is just a few steps away on the other side. The view is just as amazing and makes for a nice morning walk with our dogs. Bathroom and showers are CLEAN. All in all, we had a wonderful experience and will return! :)

Unless you just stay in your tent this park is worthless. No decent water access except to launch your boat. Extremely difficult to find campsites as they are poorly marked. Gate attendant was acting very bizarre in the evening. This park was better when it was public and you could just come and go.

Getting There
From IH 35 take Exit 191 north of New Braunfels, Texas. FM 306 is exit 191. Drive west on FM 306 for about 14 mi. Turn left on FM 2673 at the red light just after the first Guadalupe River crossing. Cranes Mill Park is located at the westernmost e...
From IH 35 take Exit 191 north of New Braunfels, Texas. FM 306 is exit 191. Drive west on FM 306 for about 14 mi. Turn left on FM 2673 at the red light just after the first Guadalupe River crossing. Cranes Mill Park is located at the westernmost end of FM 2673 and South Cranes Mill Road. Drive until FM 2673 goes down to a two lane road going through a neighborhood. Continue through the neighborhood. You will go down a steep incline and be at a Y in the road. Go left on at the Y and you have entered the park. The gate house is at the far end of the road past the marina.
Highway access
Cranes Mill Park is accessible via IH 35 to FM 306, which is approximately 14 miles from the interstate. FM 306 connects to FM 2673, leading directly to the campground.

General
- Cranes Mill Park is a Class A style RV and TENT CAMPING park This means the park has a restroom with showers, personal sites, a dump station, gatehouse, park hosts, and that each site has a table, benches, a fire ring, a standing grill with a closable lid, and drinkale water connection, and electricity. The only exception in Cranes Mill park are sites which do not have electricity. Check each site before confirming your reservation to make sure you are getting what you expect. There is also access to the lake, nearby trails, two fishing piers inthe park, and a boat ramp that puts you in near the mouth of the river.
- Maximums of the Park 2 Camping Units - For any single use RV site this means an RV style unit and a tent, or two tents. For a tent only site this means two tents. No More Allowed. May not have two RVs on same site. May not have an RV and a pop-up on same site. 10 People - This is for all single use RV or Tent sites. This includes all people including infants, children, pre-teen, teenagers, young adults, middle aged adults, and well seasonsed and wise older adults. 2 overnight vehicles 2 Guests vehicles: must be out of park by gate closure time daily 1 boat trailer: per single use site (RV or Tent). You are limited to one trailer in the park, not one at your site and one at the boat ramp.
