We had a nice time and the park was very nice. Hosts where amazing. Friendly and laid back. Didn't have any problems the entire time. My only complaint was the showers in our closest restroom where not working and the lack of parking due to day use visitors. I feel like maybe a certain amount of parking spots should be reserved for campers. It's a bummer to pay the extra money to camo but then have all the spots taken to day use and have to walk from down hill. Otherwise, wonderful place.

The park is really suffering from lack of care and re-investment. The trails and roads are in disrepair, several down trees. The showers do not work at all, after loosing the woman's last trip, and the hot water the trip before. The lake trail is almost impassable in spots. DOGS on a leash is not enforced and they run out of control thru camps. We have really enjoyed this park over the years, but may be time for a change.

Nice quiet little Gem…Not all camping spots have sewer so be careful. They also do not have a dump site so you have to pay as you leave at at the Loves Truck Stop.

I have been attending this place since I was a child. Yes I do miss the paddle boats and concession stand from back in the day. However it's very shaded peaceful and relaxing to go to. Great for any type of family small or large. I will definitely be attending this place for as long as I can.

A little gem only an hour out of Houston. This place has been our survival of Houston--the least naturey city I've ever been. We started camping here regularly and love it. The spots can be close together but the views are nice. There's usually a ton of shade and the trails are fun. The bathrooms are old but clean. We've taken a lot of friends here for their first camping trip because it's so accessible to newbies. It's LOVELY in the winter when Texas is a nippy 50-60F. It's a great place to take a day trip too. This place has a special spot in my heart.

Park looked Unmaintained. Campsites we’re trashy, bathrooms were out of order or disgusting. There are leeches in the “lake” that is almost dry. Really disappointed as it seems like it was went down hill over the last few years.

Campsite#33 is partially shaded and very leveled. The site is well maintained and clean. We enjoy the trip very much with very few people at the park.
