What Guests Are Saying
Double Lake Recreation Area is a beautiful and clean park set in a tranquil wooded environment, ideal for hiking and biking. Campers appreciate the friendly and helpful hosts, well-maintained sites, and clean restrooms. While some facilities need updates and there's limited fishing due to lily pads, the overall experience is positive, making it a popular getaway spot close to Houston.

Boy do I have a list for you: First of all the restrooms are in very poor condition and one of the facility is closed due to repairs. The small fishing pier is gone or destroyed, ( I guess due to storms). that needs to be replaced and the larger fishing pier is on its last leg. The amphitheater needs attention as well. I remember going camping at Double Lake numerous times in the past and even though the previous restrooms and showers were much older they were well kept and in good working order. I hope soon these matters will be taking cared of. thank you

Numerous Bathrooms and Showers were closed due to lack of maintenance. There were trailers which looked like they had exceeded their 14 day limit (flat tire, broken pop up).

Double Lakes is our favorite campground. We love the pull-thru sites with full hookups. Taking walks is our way of enjoying the beauty of nature in the park. The park host Craig is so helpful and friendly.

MY FAMILY HAS BEEN COMING HERE FOR OVER 50 YEARS AND HAVE NEVER BEEN DISAPPOINTED. WERE IN THE PROCESS OF MAKING PLANS TO COME BACK IN MARCH. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE THE FISHING PIERS FIXED FOR BETTER ACCES TO FISHING. THE WIFE AND I HAVE BEEN TALKING ABOUT BECOMING CAMP HOST IN THE NEAR FUTURE, SAY ABOUT FIVE YEARS. WE LOVE THE CAMPGROUND AND WILL CONTINUE TO VISIT IT. THANK YOU CAMP HOST FOR A WONDERFUL WEEKEND.
