What Guests Are Saying
Sowell Creek offers a peaceful and clean camping experience with beautiful lake views, friendly staff, and well-maintained facilities. Many guests appreciated the quiet atmosphere and spacious sites, making it a great place for relaxation and exploration. However, there are concerns about low-hanging tree branches that can pose challenges for RV access and some minor maintenance issues.

Beautiful park close to home. Only drawback is that some of the sites are closer together than the other parks at the lake. We will definitely be back. Gate attendant upon check in was very friendly and helpful.

The volunteer at check-in was the most pleasant and friendliest host I’ve encountered at COE campground, and I have stayed at a lot of them.

The cell signal at Sowell sucks! We couldn’t get online. For full timers, cell service is very important. There are tons of deer in the area. They stay in the woods though so the worry about Lyme disease is minimal. The campground itself is older. We had electric and water hookups that worked fine. The lakefront is right there and beautiful to look at. Dump station was usable and easy to get in and out of. It is a nice place to “get away from it all.”

Great stay unfortunately there was a burn ban in place the last 3 visits even though the risk of fire from a fire ring is very small. The lighting is nonexistent so if you get there after dark the pads are very difficult to locate you will need help to get on your site.
