If you are looking for a nice quiet place to spend a couple of days away from your every day life, Promontory Park is a wonderful place to do that. Plenty of shade trees, good distance from the water and the facilities are well kept in my opinion. Roomy sites with picnic table and fire ring. Great place to stay.

I absolutely love this park, promontory park, Tx,
The park host was incredibly delightful and helpful.
Even though it was too cold to swim or kayak for me, we did get some fishing in.
Nice boat ramps and clean bathrooms/showers.
I will diffinetely return.
Beautiful stars and spaces are not stacked too close.

Mid September is nice n quiet. Only 1 other camper in our circle. We were able to drag our kayaks to the water directly from our campsite to the water. Showers were clean n hot. Only complaint was the ants. By the 2nd nite they was in the camper. Can't see ever sleeping in a tent here unfortunately.

the location was very well taken care of and very clean and they had the forward thinking of having additional facilities for the big crowd for the 4th of July. The attendant was a very nice man and very helpful.

Clean sites, clean restrooms, friendly gate attendants. Nice place to see nature and still have the amenities for a camper. Deer in the park almost every evening, great fishing whether you're on a boat or just sitting at the shore. Beautiful sunsets and sunrises over the lake.
