What Guests Are Saying
Platter Flats is praised for its cleanliness, convenient bathroom facilities, and beautiful views, particularly from the B loop overlooking Lake Texoma. Guests appreciate the quiet atmosphere, helpful staff, and well-maintained grounds, making it a favorite camping destination. Some minor issues include noise from other campers and the need for maintenance on picnic tables and ant control, but overall, visitors express a desire to return.

Very lovely area well maintained. Trails were awesome and well kept. The trails were slightly challenging and the landscape was stunning. My only complaint was is there was no working showers and water was in one spigot half mile from our camp! Also the horse pens are a little distant from some of the campsites. And the manure dump was far from some of the horse corrals. But the camp host was gracious and the area clean and pristine.

Personal property misappropriated again from campsite, additionally newest reservation continues un-showing on website, though charge shows pending on one’s bank account.

I booked a 2 day trip but the website 2as was lagging SO MUCH, that I kept having to redo my reservation. Somehow it ended up booking Thursday and Friday instead of Friday/Saturday. I didnt even know until Saturday when the lady (who we see every single time) asked why we hadn't left. To correct this I went to book another night but because it was a 2 night minimum on the website I had to book two more nights. So I paid for four nights to stay two... The person in charge of camp did nothing to help and said maybe we could try to call in after the fact. Really terrible customer service for regular campers who only come in town on the weekend, especially when she knew when we arrived and had only been there for one day. They should have accommodated us when we were one of three camp sites being used the entire weekend. Probably likely to find another campsite moving forward that would be more likely to work with us for a minor mistake in booking.

We do not understand why you close the actual equine friendly camping area for the winter. The majority of pens are in that that section of the campground. This is highly inconvenient for groups of equine riders camping together. Nice weather for riding is frequent in Texas for riding in the winter and there are not so many non-equine campers present like there is in the spring and summer.
