What Guests Are Saying
Platter Flats is praised for its cleanliness, convenient bathroom facilities, and beautiful views, particularly from the B loop overlooking Lake Texoma. Guests appreciate the quiet atmosphere, helpful staff, and well-maintained grounds, making it a favorite camping destination. Some minor issues include noise from other campers and the need for maintenance on picnic tables and ant control, but overall, visitors express a desire to return.

My son, grandson and me come here all the time. It’s very relaxing and always clean. We enjoy walking around the park and hiking the horse trails. The only thing I can say about Platter is we can never find where the fish are biteing.

Overall we enjoyed the campsite. The problem was the toilets were not being cleaned and restocked. I was approached by another camper, when we arrived at the site wanting to know who to contact to complain about the lack of cleaning and restocking. The person taking care of this would spray some purple cleaner on the seat and lid and leave it. He didn't wipe it down or clean the fecal splatter from the bottom of the seat. A departing camper brought toilet paper and left it or there would not have been any. I have stayed at this site before and the previous caretaker did a better job of cleaning the toilets. NEEDS IMPROVMENT

I stayed in site 25 in Loop A. It was a beautiful view of the lake. No good place for a tent but I put my tent up in the back of my truck anyhow. You can also hear the rest of the camp because of how open the site was. I was kept up until 1:30am because of the other campers. The restrooms were well kept and horse corrals were nice. Make sure to get a campsite with a corral or be ready to take your horse to another campsite to borrow an open corral. The trails were not well marked. The only way I got back was my GPS and following the formation of the lake. I was not impressed with the trail markings especially the further you went. There are many side trails that can be deceiving. Overall good experience and would go back.

I would not recommend the park at this time. There is no guard at the gate. People can come and go as they please and the park seems to be unsupervised.
We were approached by two different women that seemed to be strung out on drugs. Both we occupants of the parks.
The police had to be called out when one of the women came up and threatened our friend and threatened harm to the horses.
Probably will not be back until the get a guard back at the gate and the park is supervised again.
