About Murrell Park

Murrell Park offers day use facilities, boat ramp access and primitive camping on scenic Grapevine Lake, in the middle of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex in Texas. The lake has become a premier recreation destination for the Southwest and offers some of the best camping, fishing and boating in Texas. This facility is open year-round, but particularly in hot summer months, the cool water provides a refreshing break from the Texas heat.

Great camping spot without having to drive hours from DFW. Added bonus: Gaylord Texan fireworks on Friday nights. Nice, covered tables and well-maintained fire rings.

We had perfect weather for a camp fire. Caught a large catfish, and kids had a great time.

Beware the site numbers are all wrong. It’ll be hard to find your spot unless they fix it

I Loved the campsite we stayed at and the Park Ranger was awesome, she just wanted to make sure we were having a good time. Myself and the Scoutmaster for our troop offered to do community service for her as a thank you.

Lovely location with walking access to the lake from the campsite. Pretty sunset over the marina. There was some trash left by former campers at the site and the neighbors could be heard. Even with the downsides, we will probably come back because the setting is a welcome break from suburban life.

Great hiking trails. Campsites are horrible. Tall grass, grass burrs everywhere and trash left from previous campers.

When we arrived at our campsite there was trash all over it... we picked it up and stayed. However, we were not happy!

My 11y.o. daughter and I had #28 reserved! It was an amazing view! It was to bad we were unable to stay the entire week we had planned since it was reserved prior to us over the weekends. We can not wait to return very very soon!
