50amp sites don't work, the staff are extremely rude, grass wasn't cut, roads are deteriorating, trash strewn about all the camp sites. I have been coming here for 25 years, I will not be back, it has gotten bad.

First of all my wife and I really love Holiday Park. I was electrocuted at site number 84 and spent the whole week in the hospital. Didn’t even get to spend one night at the campsite

Camping site 20 was a mud pit. The site is almost total dirt with dirt up on payment. I will never use that site again period. Also notice with the new 3pm entrance a line of trailers lined up for entrance causes a nightmare when most are heading to the loop sites. It wasn’t safe with the backup as campers would try to back into their site as the line grew longer with upset people.
We didn’t notice sites being cleaned bereeen the out and on time. Would guess that was reason for the hour difference. I do not believe the park is being camp up with maintenance because seen one electrical box that looked like it had been hit and pushed over some. Every elect box is 30 amp with a 50 amp plug that appears to be only 30 amp. We do not feel the park is being keep up to standards when compared to other COE parks. Because of experiences like this and past camping here returning here will be hard to accomplish. There is over parks in the area that are more attractive.

South Holiday Park campground is really a mess. It was our first time there and it was in the worst condition of any Corps park we've visited. It needed mowing badly. There were dead trees all over, many directly over vehicles. There were also many limbs too low for an RV to pass under. We had to maneuver our way out when leaving to avoid the "easy" way out since it had low-hanging limbs. They even claim, in some of their literature, that the low limbs are part of the charm of the park One of the men's restrooms was closed. Although it didn't affect us, they have a rule that no one can arrive before 3p "for any reason whatsoever". I have never seen such a rule before. Why would they care what time you arrive as long as your site was empty? Finally, the signage is horrible. It was not clear which site numbers were in what direction or which way you should approach to get into your site. There were roads that had no sign whatsoever indicating where that particular road went to. This park has great potential. It just needs a little attention.

We enjoyed the campground and lake views, but there are issues. The number of lakeview sites with 50amps need to be increased. The majority of sites are difficult to get level. We were unable to level at our site, and for out dates no other options were available. There staff were friendly and helpful.
Issues: 1 - The entrance gate was supposed to open at 6am on Thursday May 28th, the first day of the Colonial Golf Tournament which I had tickets to. I left the RV and went to the gate and it was chained closed at 6:05am. So, I turned around thinking there was an alternate route out of the park and went back to the far end, but all exits were chained closed. Upon return about 6:18am the gate was unchained and open.
2 - On Friday afternoon the water went off at our site (93, I think) and when I checked the site next to us, it too was off. We called and was told someone would be by to check. Later that evening the Park Ranger, she was extremely nice, explained what the issue was. She also suggested I submit through the Recreation dot gov site for a refund. I tried numerous times to find a link without success. We left on Saturday even though we had reservations through Tuesday. We left Saturday and did not submit a request for refund and wouldn't know how to anyway.
3 - The site was extremely overgrown and was not mowed prior to our arrival and never was during our stay. I think the least that could be done is at least do a minimal mow around the covered picnic table and perimeter of the parking site.
Having said all that, yes I would return again, I would make sure I had blocks to raise the front of the RV.

This is our second year of staying here from Colorado. It is always a pleasant location with ease to family and various activities.
We were especially pleased with the camp host, Stacy Winn. She went above and beyond and let us know that due to having a National Park Pass, we were due a credit for our stay. This will be great info that no one else has shared with us.
The park was clean. The only problem was the upper men's bathroom was out of service our entire four night stay.
