What Guests Are Saying
Cedar Breaks Park offers a beautiful and serene camping experience with spacious sites, a lovely lake, and friendly staff. Many visitors appreciate the park's proximity to Austin and the abundance of hiking trails. However, some facilities, particularly the bathrooms, require maintenance, and there have been concerns about cleanliness and crowding on weekends.

Cedar Breaks is a wonderful park on beautiful Lake Georgetown. We love the location and the campsites are pretty nice for the most part. That being said, the bathrooms are a disgrace and are the reason for my 1 star rating. Whoever cleans them does not do a thorough job and they have been neglected too long. They need to be gutted and upgraded. Some of the plumbing does not work and the men's room smells horrible. It appears the camp hosts there do not inspect anything very closely. I hope by the time we return later this year we can see great improvements and write a complimentary review about the bathrooms.

Park mostly run by volunteers, who were great. Men's bathroom was pretty sloppy. Campsites hadn't been cleaned in awhile, as there were eggshells from perhaps an Easter party all over #5 and in Day Use. Day Use was actually much more pleasant than the campground; we wished we could have camped there, instead of the formal campground

Beautiful park. Quiet with a good amount of space between sites. My first visit to a COE park. Impressive.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Park ( other than rest rooms) is well maintained. Wifi worked very well. The rest rooms however need ALOT of care. I KNOW the restroom issue has been cited before yet nothing has been done.

We have always had a great experience at the park, but this trip was tainted by a group with barking dogs. They appeared to be in an enclosed area. They barked it seemed like constantly. But when they did stop we all would say "listen. What do you hear?"
The view of the eclipse was perfect from the park.

I have been camping here for 8 years and never had anything stolen until now. I went out in the morning to run errands and when I came back my brand new electric cord was gone and so were the noisy obnoxious neighbors. Sad because I usually have a great experience at cedar breaks.

We had site 23 and were very happy with it. Level, roomy and with a beautiful view of the lake.

Great spot to stay, only stayed for couple nights, but would/will stay on return visits to the area.

We've enjoyed camping at this very nice park several times over the years. Recently, our campsite (32) was not lakeside, but on the interior of the loop, where several sites are large and so give more privacy. We were able to put two 9x10 tents in a secluded area about twenty yards behind our covered shelter, and so were away from vehicles, walkers, and kids on bicycles. We've enjoyed hiking on the 26 mi loop around the lake; although, on this trip, I skipped this rocky trail, opting to walk out of the park and over the dam, and take the trail toward Georgetown. You can get all the walking you want this way and, at 72, this path was much easier on the ankles than the lake loop. I strongly recommend good hiking boots and at least one pole if you want to experience the lake loop. Crockett Gardens is 2 - 3 mi to the left from the trailhead and is well worth the hike.
