Camp Ferncrest - Chambers Creek

We loved our stay at Ferncrest Chambers Creek! We had most of the conveniences of a hotel room but with some of the experiences of sleeping in a tent. Management was quick to respond to texts, including for a small issue with our dome. We enjoyed the proximity to nature and watching fireflies through the large window from our bed at night. Beware that you do need to walk to the bathroom building. We decided to bring a camping potty for convenience, and it was really nice to have, especially during a rainstorm. I also brought extra water bottles to refill to minimize trips to the faucet. I was happy to find a couple of coffee mugs in our dome, but we needed our own dishes and flatware for the most part. I think the only thing I would change is having a way to enjoy fresh air in the dome with a screen, but the window and A/C were nice, and we could easily step outside for fresh air. As an heads up for accessibility, I would definitely recommend using something with good wheels. My portable combo wheelchair/rollator was not a great match for the bumpy ground, and there is a small step up to the platform for the dome we stayed in, but the bathroom had a ramp. Also, a couple of large, friendly (not aggressive) puppies got us muddy with their paws one day, but overall we had a very relaxing and enjoyable experience close to the convenience of the city and even closer to small-town stores and restaurants.

Had a great weekend with family. Short drive, great place to unplug and the camp store had basic necessities we needed. The bathroom and showers were clean and the team was responsive. We didn't try the cold plunge or sauna. Hopefully next time.

These air conditioned “tents” are amazing with luxurious sheets and views! The fridge, microwave and cooler amenities came in handy. If you’re a coffee drinker, you’ll be set, too. I thoroughly enjoyed the self-service sauna. It warmed up at a rate where I could acclimate to it and really enjoy myself and relax. I even braved the cold plunge! The Camp Store has nice souvenirs and some items a guests might forget to bring as well as some snacks and drinks for purchase. Everyone was so nice and accommodating! Just a short drive from Dallas!

My family and I had such a great time here! The location is beautiful, you really feel like you’re in a whole other world in the woods surrounded by trees and the sounds of nature. The domes are GORGEOUS inside and out, the bed was very comfortable, and the amenities inside like the cooler, fridge and microwave were an awesome touch. The camp store was adorable and had board games to borrow, cute tshirts, and snacks and drinks stocked. The bathrooms and showers were CLEAN and private with locks, no showering or using bathroom stalls with strangers. Very peaceful and beautiful all around. Can’t wait to go back!

We visited Ferncrest Chambers Creek in Grandview and had an amazing experience. The property is peaceful, clean, and beautifully maintained with a relaxing atmosphere that’s perfect for a weekend getaway. The campsites were spacious, and the natural surroundings made it easy to unwind and enjoy the outdoors. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a quiet Texas escape with a mix of comfort and nature. We’ll definitely be back!
