The 30 amp didn't work. Had to use neighbors 20 amp adapter to have lights. Had to run icebox on gas. No one showed up to fix. After we contacted park host.

Love the fact that there are full hook-ups at this park. Very clean and well maintained and close to the water.

We are disappointed because we reserved a group shelter and they canceled on us in 2 weeks notice. Fortunately, we found 3 sites left and we booked 3 sites. It sucks that we are a big family (16 of us went, originally supposed to be 20 of us), had to split sites and we had to visit other sites back and forth.
On Saturday morning, few of us went for a "hike" (we cannot find equestrian trails) - it is not convincing to find it but we decided to walk around and walk toward a group shelter and guess what????? Group of MEN stayed at this group shelter? How did that happen? WE reserved first and canceled on us then allowed others to reserve? VERY DISAPPOINTED!!
This site says (under activities) * swimming site *water sports..... *flashing news* it is false information!!! If we knew, we wouldn't reserve there in the first place. Know how kids are? They love to swim and it keeps them busy as well but unfortunately there's no access to swim sites at all! We had to go to another park almost all day at the lake, kids are happy! It was a bit of a hassle for all of us to repack cooler, chairs and swim stuff to go to another park with 6 kids and 4 dogs, it is a lot of "work" but we managed to enjoy our weekend. We agreed that we will not go back again. Willis Creek site needs an update: no swim access!
Overall - Park/rest area is clean, quiet and peaceful! It is a very small park and it is a good park for anyone who doesn't care about hiking and no access to swim. (beside group shelter, we went to the "beach" and obviously we can't swim but whoever did but they left a few messes (fish guts, fish skeleton, fried chicken thrown on the ground) :(

Camper playing loud music til 2am. Screaming, cursing fights, throwing trash everywhere. Ranger David informed, couldn't care less. Grass overgrown in campsites. Used to be nice park. Won't go back. Two weeks there tense and uncomfortable.

We typically stay at Willis Creek when we can get one of the full hookup spots. It appears that the park is going down hill due to lack of maintenance and upkeep. There was one shelter with boards rotting off and other issues. The grass had not been mowed in a long while.

Site was a good location. Grass was tall and had not been cut in a log while. Picnic Table area was very dirty needed a shovel and broom to clean. Mosquitoes were terrible . Staff was very friendly.

This campground has a lot of potential to be a nice place to visit. We had site 1 which doesn’t have much shade (which we knew, just a heads up). Our main issues were that the grass was knee high right out of the campsite. There were ant mounds everywhere, but hidden due to the high grass, the bathrooms were absolutely disgusting.. you couldn’t pay me enough to even walk into one of them again, and some issues with lose boards at the picnic area. We didn’t swim in the lake because the water didn’t look all that great. We drove over to the Wilson Fox side and went swimming in the beach area, the bathrooms over there were just as bad. The gate attendant was super friendly and drove around quite a bit. She also threw some frisbees out to the campers with kids so they had a new toy to play with. I will say she gave everyone that came in wrong directions, she said it’s the 3rd left but really it’s the 1st. I think she was counting the volunteer sites as lefts, no biggy. Overall for a short weekend it was a fun getaway, just a bit disappointed with the lack of upkeep at this particular park.

All the people at the gate were great. Bathrooms and the primitave camp area need to be maintained more but very good experience overall. I camp out most weekends during fall, winter and early spring.
