Our campsite (39) had plenty of space, shade, and a nice view of the lake. We foraged all of our firewood from along the lake shore and found plenty of dry driftwood near the water's edge, only a one-minute walk from our campsite. A new fire ring and a new grill had recently been installed at the campsite, and we enjoyed using both.
The restroom / shower building marked as 2 was a five-minute walk from our campsite. While we can't speak for other, similar facilities in the campground, building 2 needs improvements and maintenance. The only evidence we saw of any regular maintenance was replenishment of toilet paper; otherwise, the building appears to be neglected. Of the two shower stalls in the men's restroom, only one had a curtain, and that stall's shower head dripped water continuously. The second shower stall had no hot-cold water faucet, only a push button for water, and no shower curtain. Similar conditions in the women's restroom and shower stalls; a covid-related sign lay on the floor where it appears to have been for several years or more.

We stayed at campsite 047 and absolutely loved the stunning views of the lake with the city in the background. The grounds were spotless and clearly well maintained. The only thing missing was proper water drainage, but overall it was still a fantastic experience.

i love the sites at Hickory Creek for an easy and local camping experience. Check in was easy (and we were able to get in early) and the sites and bathrooms were well maintained.

Beautiful campground with nice amenities. Clean campsites and facilities. Campsites are nicely spaced apart from each other. Most sites have a lake view. Walking trails cover the campground so easy to get plenty of exercise. Campground is conveniently located to lots of opportunities to replenish provisions. We truly enjoyed our weekend!

The camp sites always busy but the staffs are keeping the place tighty. Highy recommended.

We’ve stayed at Hickory Creek a few times now, and we’re really enjoying it. It makes us close to family, and we can see that they live in Sanger—lots of trees and lake lots.

This is a wonderful facility. We have a 42’ class A coach. We were in site 21 which was long enough and mostly flat. Just about any site on the water side of the road is long and flat. The staff was very friendly. The park was quiet during the week. Of course the weekend it was full and louder but nothing out of control. It will definitely be our go to park when visiting our daughter.

Beautiful campground near DFW Metroplex. Had a great campsite, though it was a little noisy from the airport traffic
