One of the nicest parks in the North Texas area. I enjoy the privacy and the fact there is no day-use for non-campers.

The view from our campsite across the lake was great. Everything was clean. My only complaint was the long walk to the bathroom. I guess you have to decide if you want a view or the bathroom close.

Generally quiet in my experience, although I purposefully camp during the week vs. the weekends. I love having shopping and restaurants nearby. During my last visit, I had two families of ducks entertain me at the water's edge. So cute!

We were at the park from Sunday till Wednesday. I understand there has to be park maintainance. But on Monday, they were mowing, All. Day. Long. and if that wasn't bad enough, on Tuesday they were using a chainsaw from 8 am till 1 pm. It was just noisy almost the entire time we were there. And we are ones that like to hang out outside and enjoy nature.
Then on top of the park people just making noise, they let the people next to us renovate their camper the entire time we were there. They started at 7 am and didn't stop till after 7 pm and just kept filling up every dumpster with basically the entire inside of their camper. I couldn't believe they allowed that to happen.
Saw, Hammers, Mowers, Chainsaws.... I just wanted to lay in the hammock and read a book. Couldn't enjoy this trip. too much noise

We love Hickory Creek Campground! It is so close to Dallas, but it seems so far away--a true get-away and change of pace in a quiet wooded setting. The campground is clean and well-kept. We plan to visit many more times in the future!

When traveling North on I-35E, take exit 458A toward Swisher Rd/FM-2181 onto S stemmons Fwy. Continue onto N Stemmons Fwy toward Hundley Dr/Turbeville Rd. Turn right on to N Lake Dallas Dr towards Hundley Dr/Turbeville Rd. Turn sharp right onto W Hundley Dr towards Hickory Creek. Continue on Turbeville Rd, and turn left onto Point Vista Rd. After 0.5 miles, Hickory Creek Campground will be on the right.
When traveling South on I-35E, take exit 457 toward Lake Dallas Dr onto Stemmons Fwy. Then, take ramp towards Turbeville Rd/Hundley Dr/Hickory Creek. Turn left onto Turbeville Rd towards Hickory Creek. Turn left onto Point Vista Rd. After 0.5 miles, Hickory Creek Campground will be on the right.
Hickory Creek Campground is accessible via I-35E, with exit 458A providing direct access to the area. The campground is located approximately 0.5 miles from the nearest access point on Turbeville Rd.

Policies & Rules
General
- Check in starts at 3:00pm. No early check-in. You may be asked to wait OUTSIDE of park if you arrive early.
- The park gate closes at 10pm and there is no entry/re-entry until 6am. Exit gate will open in case of emergency. There is NO code for the gate. Please plan accordingly.
- No fireworks, firearms or chainsaws allowed
- No off-road vehicles allowed, including golf carts.
- Primitive sites are CLOSED at this time.
- Don't Move Firewood: Protect your forests from tree-killing pests by buying your firewood locally and burning it on-site. Visit Dontmovefirewood.org for further information.
- Campers are alloted 14 days in a 30 day period. Without authorization ANY attempts to circumvent system such as but not limited to changing reservation details may result in the revocation of any current and or future reservations.
- Pets must be on a physical restraint no longer than 6ft at all times. Pets may not be left unattended or unsupervised at any time. This includes being left outside on restraint while you're in your tent/camper/rv.
- STOP THE SPREAD OF INVASIVE SPECIES. Remove plants, seeds, animals, and mud from boots, gear, pets, and vehicles. Clean your gear before entering and leaving the recreation site. Stay on designated roads and trails, and follow local guidelines for firewood. CLEAN, DRAIN, DRY boats and any other recreational equipment that contacts water.
