What Guests Are Saying
Hanks Creek campground is well-kept and offers a peaceful atmosphere, with clean sites and decent facilities, making it a great spot for relaxation and outdoor activities. Many campers enjoyed the beautiful views of the lake and appreciated the friendly park hosts. However, some areas are in need of maintenance and updates, particularly the boat ramps and restroom facilities, which have been affected by recent flooding and storms.

Nice park, roomy sites, bathrooms very clean. The only problem was loose dogs, apparently from nearby neighborhoods, roaming the park, at times barking aggressively. Intimidating, especially trying to walk my own leashed dogs, especially at night. Park host stated park administration had been aware for some time and had done nothing about it. So likely won't be back, did not feel safe.

Every day we saw loose dogs running through the campground. Most appeared to be coming from outside the park. No one ever appeared to be doing anything about these dogs. Since (according to hosts) this is a longtime problem why isn`t something done? This situation must have influenced several campers who also let their dogs off leash.
This park is a perfect example of what happens when you are understaffed and under-budgeted.Everywhere you look something needs attention. I don`t see how your volunteers can maintain with all they have to do.
However, we enjoyed our stay (other than running dogs out of our site) because it was mostly peace and quiet.

This park is a GEM in the wilderness of Texas. Hosts are on it, every aspect of our visit was top notch (less internet connectivity)

We stayed here a few days over thanksgiving week. The park was full but everyone is spaced out nicely. The cell coverage on AT&T was very poor. Good views by the lake.

Beautiful view of the lake. Sites have plenty of room. The upgraded looped will add many more great sites when completed. We were passing through the area and it was a nice find!

Hanks Creek Park is located 1 mile from my parents. We love staying here due to their close proximity. The only things lacking is a playground for the kids on the camping side of the park and trails to hike or bike on.
