Hanks Creek campground is well-kept and offers a peaceful atmosphere, with clean sites and decent facilities, making it a great spot for relaxation and outdoor activities. We only got to stay two days of nine days reserved because of flooding conditions. The two days we stayed was raining and very windy. We hope to be able to return at another time. The park is very nice.

The park is always neat & clean, mowing is done, fire rings are clean-- all these are done by the park volunteer hosts. The asphalt pads for RV's are broken off on each side, and have been for years. It is very dangerous to step out of your rv onto the broken off surface. Also, the metal picnic table covers on several spots have been damaged by trees for several years, and have never been repaired. We do like the Gate Code method now-- it is helpful to keep out unregistered guests. Thanks for your continued service!

Water service was out for more than two days. This includes having no restrooms, as they were locked due to lack of water service. I was told I would be receiving a refund. Have submitted an inquiry for that but have not received the refund.
The location and setting of the park was nice. The park was kept clean and well-maintained. Except for the water issue that is.
The volunteers overseeing the park were very courteous.

We had a wonderful time ... I do have a question I hope you can help me with ... we actually had our stay for May 4th - 8th and the camp keeper called and said we couldn’t come until the water came as fixed which made us lose a night of reservation.. how can I get a refund for that night .. thanks Kelly Miller

From Zavalla, TX, take State Hwy 147 northeast for 1/4 mile, then turn
north on FM 2109, go 8 miles to FM 2801. Turn right (east) on FM 2801 and go 2
miles to the park entrance. Follow signs into the campground.

Policies & Rules
Cancellation policy
- Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
- Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
- Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
