We stayed at Twin Dikes quite a bit when I was a child, and it was always great. I was pleasantly surprised when it was just as wonderful in November of 2018 when my best friend and I took our annual camping trip there. She liked it so much that she held her birthday camping trip there in April 2019. On that trip, a rainstorm caused the power to go out around 4:30 p.m. At that time, they came by and locked the restrooms. I suppose maybe that was for safety or maybe the pumps/sewer run on electricity. At any rate, the power came back on around 10 that night, but no one came to unlock the bathrooms until after 8 the next morning. We felt like that was pretty unacceptable since we rented shelters and were not attempting to camp without facilities. Nevertheless, my friend and I returned in November of 2019 with our nephews. Again we rented shelters. I joked with my friend beforehand that I was bringing bolt cutters in case the power went out again and they locked the bathrooms. Thankfully, this trip was free of power outages, but the bathrooms were closed for construction. This was entirely unacceptable, as it should have been noted or disclosed somewhere when I rented the shelters, especially since we had 4 and 5 year old boys with us. The first night we stayed was a Friday, and there was a large group of people camping beside us, and they were blaring music and yelling until about 3 a.m. No one from the facility ever came by to enforce the rules. I honestly don’t understand why anyone is getting paid to manage this place, because they only manage it from about 9-5 during the day. We left after the first night, and forfeited our money, because we couldn’t deal with no bathrooms and loud, drunk people another night. Unfortunately, that will be our last trip.

The park is an excellent place to get away from the city. The onsite staff are wonderful and the facilities are well cared for. I'll be back.
