Gate attendant Marjorie was friendly and helpful.
The hiking trails need attention. That’s one of our favorite activities at the park.

If you peace and quiet then don’t get a rv spot near any tent spots. Seemed like every tent spot East Texas Oilfield white trash. Kids running wild all over with their moms yelling across the campsites at them. Loud music playing til late at night. A lot of campsites shut down with orange construction mesh blocking them off. Lake is nice. Also if planning a trip into Jefferson for antique shopping, make sure their isn’t a biker rally going on there that weekend.

Great park site 87 back in, very large. Accommodated my 34 ft class A and Jeep toad with plenty of room to spare. Large pine tree everywhere. Pedestal close by easy hookup. Small fishing pier. Did not use bathhouse.

Campground was quiet with nice trees and hillside view of the lake. Loehman’s Garage in Jefferson provided a competent oil change service for our diesel pickup. Town of Jefferson sponsors an annual music festival with participants from many countries in addition to the US.

Very nice campground. Impeccably clean grounds. Did not use showers or toilets as we are self contained.

We love this new place to camp, staff are very professional and nice. I he only issue I have is the bathrooms/shower areas. They need to be cleaned better! We noticed dried human waste on walls and floor of shower area. This was after cleaning crew left each day. Instead on cleaning once a day, I would recommend twice if not three times a day. Also, trash cans are loaded with junk not trash from campers.
