Enjoyed the stay

Lovely place, old restrooms.

Friendly people at the front office and, as always, a nice time in our spot. The predicted heatwave was displaced by several rainy days that included lightning. We enjoyed heading into Longview for some shopping and TexMex on the worst of the days.

Grass was high and sites were not weeded

Great place, but not taking care any more. Grass a foot or more high.

We have been camping in this spot for years with our families. This year the park wasn't mowed or weeded for the first time ever. We all got chiggers. The tent area was full of families that trashed the bathhouse and no one said anything to them. We were very disappointed.

Boat traffic was light with limited noise, great weather, overall a good trip.

We have stayed in this campground quite a few times and it’s a nice stay. Would be nice if they upkept with the yard better. The past 3 times the yard looks to be 1-2 weeks grown. I get the grass grows quick..but if I need to bring my own mower and weedeater……

We love Brushy Creek BUT DONT STAY IN SITE E311. The ants are horrible there! We had friends who stayed in that spot in March and got infested with ants that they are still battling 3 months later in their camper. We hoped it was a freak thing and booked that same spot for 3 months later. We too were attacked by ants in hot back slides. Even after my husband was proactive and sprayed the entire perimeter of the trailer and any contact points, multiple times. 2 days in, we had ants. Thankfully we had been watching intently and caught them fairly quickly so we don’t think we brought them home with us. But we did pack up and leave 2 days later to not risk it. My husband always gets on the roof to blow off slides before we pull them in and he said he saw a few ants on the roof… so we now believe they may have come from a pine tree with a limb just over the top of the site (? But it wasn’t touching the roof ?) Anyway, to play it safe- I would avoid sites 311, 312, 313 ….. last time we stayed in 309 and had no issues with ants.

The bathrooms could also use some tlc. To be as new as they are- they weren’t as clean as they should be.

But over all I still give Brushy a 4 star review (down from my previous 5 stars)- it’s a beautiful campground and we will be back. Just won’t be staying in 311 again! (I mentioned not staying in 312 or 313 also because a year ago we were in 314 and the folks in those two sites had any issues also. So I think it’s that whole little section of that loop.)
