Buckhorn & Brushy Creek are the closest COE parks to our home. We live in rv and travel full time. It is a shame that these parks are the poorest maintained of any of the parks we visit. Always needs to be mowed. Bathrooms need updating badly. Fire pits are not cleaned out. There are about 11 septic sites and they are allowing people to stay a month or more. We had family and friends that wanted a site and couldn’t get in. Not fair.

We camped in site 116 back in 2018, and again this month. The site was clean and still has the Great Lake view. We will be back when traveling through the area.

Nice area, pretty views. Liked that I could change my site due to no one there on the days I came.

Our campsite of well maintained and level. The restrooms were also clean and stocked. We took a tour of Caddo lake which was very enjoyable on Captain Ron's Swamp Tours and spent a day in the town of Jefferson shopping in the local shops. Was a great trip and am planning on returning in the future.

We usually always have a good time at Buckhorn. This time was not the case. Lot 123 apparently is on top of one HUGE ant mound. We fought big ants in our beds, in the food and in the cabinets. We put poison out but it did not help. We will never stay on this spot again.

Tent pad area for our camp spot was grown up with weeds and ants were everywhere. And play ground was closed.

We stay at the part multiple times a year and it is pretty with a lot of lake views. The only issue is the restrooms always have spiders and other bugs in them. So, if you're planning on showering there bring some bug spray.
