It is so peaceful & quiet! This is a place to recharge your batteries! All the trees, the lake & deer make for a beautiful & serene vacation. I have another trip already scheduled for Buckhorn Creek!!! Love it!

Wonderful scenery, relaxing and peaceful. Beautiful view of the Lake. Went into Jefferson on a Ghost Walk tour that was very interesting and informative of the history of the town. Stores for groceries and bait where convenient. Gas stations are a bit sparse, but we had a very good time.

The grounds are beautiful and the site was level. The staff were very friendly. The bathrooms were not very clean when we first got there. We were there for two weeks with Labor Day in between that time. They did a thorough cleaning of the bathroom before the holiday weekend but that was it.

Seen mower- mowing tent area and regular RV sites were bad with very tall grass! Roads need attention, pokes with numbers are in bad shape. Really run d!!!

Arrived and the Gate Keeper noticed my Senior Pass was about to be changed to the new style. Helped me get that taken care of on the spot. Sites were well maintained and great.

Great site overlooking the lake. Quiet and peaceful. Good level spot and didn’t have unhitch for our one night stay.

Getting There
From Jefferson, TX, travel 3.8 mi northwest on Highway 49. Turn left onto FM 729 and continue for 3.5 mi, then turn left again onto FM 726. Travel 2.5 mi. The park entrance is on the right.

Buckhorn Creek is accessible via Highway 49, which is approximately 3.8 miles from Jefferson, TX. Additionally, FM 726 connects to the local roads leading to the campground.
