We enjoyed our stay. Our access to river from campsite #7 was excellent for kayaking. Park was clean and attendants were very friendly! We will definitely be coming back soon!

The entire visit was such a treat. The ranger on-staff took great care of us, all amenities were clean (restrooms & shower facilities were cleanest I've ever seen at a park). Nicely spaced out tent ⛺ camping spots with covered cement table/benches, fire rings, & water spigot. It was such a relaxing, beautiful trip with my partner & dog. Everyone around us were so neighborly, all dogs were on leashes, it was an all-around good vibe. If you forget something, Kopperl has the basics at local food stores, but for full grocery, stop at Cleburne/Whitney. We went to the Brookshires in Whitney, it was well-stocked. This entire trip was beautiful; clear skies at night revealed a dark blanket sky that had bright shining constellations not normally visible from DFW. There is obvious light pollution from the North, as to be expected. Be prepared to be serenaded by crickets, frogs, ducks, geese, owls, other wild birds, coyotes, etc. as you fall asleep. Just about 1.5hr from Dallas to the Southwest, this made for an incredible weekend escape.
