What Guests Are Saying

The Marfa Yacht Club offers stunning views and a unique Airstream-only concept, creating an appealing atmosphere for outdoor enthusiasts. While the park has clean and well-maintained bathrooms, some visitors noted a lack of human interaction during check-in and issues with the dog park, including sand burrs and no seating for owners. Additionally, the dirt road leading to the park was criticized for being rough, impacting the overall experience, and there were concerns about the owner’s customer service in handling cancellations.

I have delayed writing a negative review for this RV park because I wanted to reflect. This is a regretful first. We stayed there for several days in early March. The visual views at this park were stunning, as many have reported and the Airstream only concept is unique and appreciated. Pre-arrival text was adequate but there appeared to be no on-sight office or manager. Lots of "private" signs. I like to have some human contact on check-in just the get the update on the area. The text did include Marfa area links. At first I though the dog park looked great, large fenced area. But there were no benches or chairs for humans. I like to relax while the dog runs around. Then I realized the area was infested with sand burrs. Not fun for our dog or for me, who was only wearing sandals. But the absolute WORST was the 3/4 mile dirt road to the park from the paved road. It was like a hard washboard and rattled my TV and Airstream like nothing I have ever experienced, going less than 10 mph, with no warning signs. I don't know what the deal is here? Maybe they have pissed off the City or the County, but this was OUTRAGEOUS! The ruff road cause our frig to come open and food to spill out. Under these circumstances we will never go back.

Great RV Park for the Airstream community! The park is divided into two sections; the Airstream side and the 'general' side. The Airstream section is quite nice, and set up for enjoying the outdoors. The general section, in my opinion, is set up more for short stays. I see it this way because the sites are relatively close to each other and not really designed for outdoor living. There are no picnic tables at the sites; however, there are a few set up under a shelter next to the bathrooms. To be noted, the bathrooms are clean and well maintained.

We stayed on the general side, and overall, it was a convenient stop for us. We had full hookup.

My wife and I had a reservation to stay here but we had to abruptly change our plans and drive back to Houston. My wife developed pneumonia. I have not spoken to the owner yet but will do so. He did speak with my daughter who had contacted him at my request. Short version is aftery daughter explained the situation and could we work out a later date. Mike )the owner) replied "No, I've heard every excuse." What a terrible attitude and behavior. No excuse for that.

If I could give 0 stars, I would.

I spoke with the owner, Mike, regarding a cancellation due to a medical emergency and his response was “No. I’ve heard every excuse.” He wouldn’t even offer a credit for a future stay. Unbelievable.

I’ve been in the hospitality industry for 13 years and can’t imagine speaking to a customer in that tone. When I addressed his rude tone, he said “go write a review”, so that’s what I’m doing. With that being the experience prior to arrival, I can only imagine how terrible the customer service would be during the stay. Part of hospitality is compassion and empathy, but all Mike cares about is revenue.

Great privately owned Airstream only campground. They are still in the process of adding new sites and amenities. The cell signals on Verizon and AT&T were strong. It is only a mile to downtown Marfa which is fun to explore. The only negative was a very friendly dog of another guest which was off leash and poop was not picked up in the area. Our dogs get very distracted with loose dogs and was a pain to get them to do their business. But that will be a departing issue. We will definitely stop again when passing through.
