What Guests Are Saying

Dos Rios RV Park has received mixed reviews highlighting significant issues with cleanliness and maintenance, including dirty cabins, stained mattresses, and poor kitchen facilities. However, some guests praised the friendly and responsive staff, particularly Greg and Tammy, who provided assistance during emergencies and ensured a safe environment. The park's natural beauty and potential for enjoyable experiences were noted, though many felt the overall value for the price paid did not meet expectations.

BEWARE FALSE ADVERTISING. Are bots writing the 5 star reviews??
- dirty
- The office does not sell much and does not have ice.
-cabin is falling apart
-mattress is yellow and brown and so are the pillows. Mattress had no mattress topper or pad to protect from other peoples sweat or germs.
-The linens are thin and polyester.
- mattress has no boxspring. It’s just on a metal bed frame is very uncomfortable.
- The pullout couch is just a futon. That’s a little bit bigger than a twin size bed.
- The shower curtain is stained in the actual shower is black and brown with stain stains.
-The Wi-Fi invasively non-existent you will have no signal at all, even on Wi-Fi

We booked cabin 20/21. We walked in and there was a bundle of dirty sheets on the bed. There was old food crushed on the floor and a pack of half used black and milds on the counter. They basically never cleaned from the previous guest. We told the woman at the desk, Jessica, who seemed truly shocked and walked over to us with a bottle of bleach and took the dirty sheets. She said it would take a bit for her to wash the sheets and bring them back. In the mean time, we saw the heavily stained mattress and pillows with yellow and black stains. The shower and sink had hair, toothpaste clumps, and dark yellow/black stains as well. The sight was a scene from a scary movie. The “pull out couch” described in the site was not a pull out. It was a futon that maybe was bigger than a twin when flat. There was also food crumbs in the crack so when you opened the futon it was like a sand box of old food. The cabin was below par of a low class motel. It was absolutely disgusting and we wanted to leave right there but we just drove 6 hours with two babies and were very exhausted to drive back or fight and argue. The next day my family came as they rented the cabin next door. If our cabin was a scary movie, hers was straight slasher film. The air conditioner did not cool, the water smelt like sulphur aka rotten eggs, their bed had large urine stains on the sheets, and the bathroom was literally stained black. Essentially, this was a trend. When we voiced our concerns to the front desk, again only Jessica, she said to email the person we booked with because she was the only person there this weekend. We did that and no reply.

In this day and age, where we all work hard for our money and want to spend every dollar intentionally, where a vacation is truly a luxury, you would think they’d want the best impression so people continue to come back even in the hardest economic times. This is false. I have absolutely no idea how they have anything greater than 3 stars on google and Facebook. The reviews and photos seem like strategic deception and are actually very offensive lies.

Do not come here. Do not spend your money here. I am so ashamed I drove 6 hours to this SCAM!!

We booked two cabins for three nights at Dos Rios and dropped a cool $1,296.13, expecting at least mid-tier cabin vibes. What we got was more “survival challenge with a side of comedy.”

The kitchen sink in our cabin deserves its own Olympic event. I timed it: one full minute to fill a 16-ounce Solo cup. That’s not a faucet, that’s a very slow leak with commitment issues. If you enjoy watching water think about dripping, you’ll love it.

Then there was the “big cabin” on site 6. On morning one, we preheated the oven for biscuits and immediately got hit with the unmistakable aroma of “burning rubber.” Opened the door… and discovered someone’s old flip-flops had been living their best life inside. Not exactly the welcome gift we were hoping for.

Pro tip: there are also no baking dishes. None. The entire kitchen inventory consisted of one large stovetop pan, one comically tiny pan, and a medium pot. There was, however, a whole drawer full of lids… for the pan set that apparently achieved enlightenment and left this earthly plane. We made it work, but it felt like cooking with whatever was left behind after a very disorganized yard sale.

Coffee situation? Two tablespoons of granules in a mason jar for three nights. For multiple adults. That’s not hospitality, that’s a hostage situation.

No hot pads. No cleaning supplies whatsoever. We made an emergency run into town for Clorox wipes and real coffee like we were prepping for the apocalypse. There were no trash bags provided either, and our other cabin came with a broken futon. Even the dumpster is just a trailer with plywood on the sides, making it very easy for critters to get into. Good luck getting around the property — the roads are so washed out you’ll start pricing lift kits for your sedan.

Look, the location has potential (if they had far better management, along with dedicated cleaning and maintenance crews), but at this price point, leaving flip-flops in the oven and two tablespoons of coffee is just insulting. Dos Rios charged luxury rates and delivered “glamping with a side of ‘figure it out.’”

If you’re looking for an expensive comedy show with minimal kitchen functionality, this is your spot. Otherwise… keep looking.

This has been our 3rd time staying here and I cannot say enough good things about the staff! Greg is quick to come outside and greet folks when they pull up. They truly care about their campers. 1st night here we were under tornado watch and I was scared as the rain and wind were insane. Tammy called me and calmed my fears as they were tracking storm and on WATCH. They would be down here quick warning folks if something were to happen. We made it through fine. Greg opened my son’s soda for him (I forgot the bottle opener), Greg has saved us when we got VERY stuck across the river. Every camp ground has their “that one group” of people who are a bit to loud at times but they do have quiet hours and will come down and tell folks to keep it down if they are disturbing other campers. The grounds are clean and the shower was HOT. Very thankful for this place and the lovely people who run it. Makes this single momma and her kiddo feel a lot safer on our wild adventures. Thank you Collin, Greg,Tammy, and Cheryl (the kind soul who stopped as I was helping an angry snapping turtle get across the road safely 😂)

The airstream we stayed in was well equipped and well maintained. There was a learning curve understanding the air conditioning system. However, once we got it down it was a blessing. It was great to have AC and the ability to take a warm shower. The hosts Greg and Tammy are very kind, and the neighbors we met were pleasant . The river and stars were breathtaking. It was a great hill country. Good places to eat nearby as well

This review covers my experience from shortly after arrival until departure. Buckle up cause it was a rough one.

I’m a solo female camper and camp alone often. This was my first trip since February, and I was really looking forward to it. Unfortunately, this is the most uncomfortable and frustrating camping experience I’ve ever had.

Within the first 23 hours, the camp hosts & groundskeeper came to my site three times. There is absolutely no sense of privacy here even though all the doors around me were empty. During the last interaction, a male groundskeeper walked up and stood about one foot from my face, forcing me to turn away and walk off. He informed me that a burn ban had “just been placed” and pointed at my firewood saying I wouldn’t be able to use it. I asked if he was kidding, since I had spent nearly two hours driving to Brady to buy firewood. He said he was not. I later looked it up & the burn ban started three days earlier. Fires were burning throughout the park the night before, and I had checked the website before booking. Had this been clearly communicated, I would not have booked a second night.

Instead, I was left at sunset trying to decide whether to drive 8.5 hours home or sit in total darkness for the rest of the night.

The website advertises Wi-Fi, there is none, not even spotty WiFi. Cell service is essentially nonexistent, aside from the occasional random bar. Signage is poor and difficult to read, especially if arriving after dark. The camp hosts continuously bother campers. The roads are very bumpy, the sites are extremely uneven, and there is only one river access point for the entire park. The vending machines don’t work.

I was also very put off by the kayak rentals: charging nearly a quarter of what I paid for a brand-new kayak, offering day-only rentals with no hourly option, especially during cooler months with shorter daylight. The location itself is beautiful, but it is absolutely not worth the hassle, especially given the price.

I was car camping at site 28, which bleeds into site 27 and honestly should be one site. After dark, while I was making food, an older woman I had never seen before came flying into the park, slammed on her brakes at the office, then sped past my site, slammed on her brakes again, reversed, and demanded that I move my car immediately.

I tried to explain that I was attempting to find a level spot after a horrible, uneven night of sleep, and she said she didn’t care and threatened to call the police. Her attitude was aggressive from the start.

My husband called the office to understand what had just happened, as this was not someone who had previously contacted me. Despite claims of “witnesses” from the woman on the phone, there was no one camping near me, and she was alone in the truck. Ten minutes later, she peeled out of the park again. When my husband spoke with staff, they attempted to smooth things over but refused to acknowledge any wrongdoing, instead defending this woman extensively. She also said that the area in front of my tent was “level,” despite the fact that this is exactly where I slept the night before and was unable to maintain a side-sleeping position because of how severely unlevel it was. This will be clearly visible in the photos I took and will be adding to this review.

At that point, I no longer felt safe staying there given the repeated harassment since arrival and the erratic behavior of someone driving aggressively through the park, I made the decision to leave. I have never experienced anything like this while camping. As I was about to pull out the aggressive woman was back parked in front of my site.

I sincerely hope this review reaches the owners
