Great new location for us to get away from the city to visit to. We visited this past Memorial day weekend and really enjoyed the whole resort. Everything is very well maintained and extremely clean. The site pads are designed just right so you aren't hooking up in the weeds, dirt, and grass. The pads and sites all have a good amount of room for you to camp and not feel like you are staring into the camper window next door. Had a chance to meet one of the park hosts as well and she was extremely nice and took a lot of time to chat with us. (Front desk staff was pleasant and helpful too) We're coming back as a group for Veterans day weekend, can't wait!

After a delicious dinner and incredible magic show, we stayed in the cutest cabin on this gorgeous property. Just a short walk from The Rosewood Venue, our stroll to the cabin was blissfully quiet under a crisp sky dotted with bright stars. The cabin was comfortable and had everything needed: a thoughtfully stocked kitchen, heat/air, comfortable beds, televisions, nice linens, towels, and toiletries. Our 13-year old slept in the loft and talked about how this would be a perfect place for us to live. Unfortunately we were only able to stay for one night, but I was able to get up early and enjoy a couple of hot cups of coffee on the porch surrounded by pine trees, oaks, elms, and that glorious quietness and fresh air that I don’t get to experience in Dallas. I wish we would’ve been able to stay longer. If you’ve never been (we hadn’t), make the drive into Mt. Vernon to see the square. It reminded us of Back to the Future, especially the courthouse with the clock on top. Less than 2 hours away from Dallas, this is the perfect weekend getaway! We hope to go again this summer to check out the lake.

This place has good reviews, but I’m truly not sure how they do. Our family stayed in three different cabins. None of them were exceptionally clean. Found an open pack of cigarettes in one of them as well as the entire cabin being mediocre clean. None of the bathroom doors actually lock, causing major concern for privacy. April was terrible to deal with. Very poor communication. There was a lot of “miscommunication” like completely forgetting to book us for our first night and ending up not having a place to stay. They say they are pet friendly, but they really aren’t. Falsely accused my dog of “eating” an outdoor chair, that was already ruined when we got there. My dog was never left unattended, especially outside. We were charged a lot of extra cleaning fees due to having “excessive dog hair” yet we actually paid to have our dog groomed in their parking lot to avoid having that be a problem.
April actually confessed that she was highly allergic to dogs, and that’s why she charged us the cleaning fee. Wouldn’t recommend bringing your animal to stay here at all.

We absolutely loved our cabin stay at The Pines RV & Cabin Resort! We stayed in the Rocky Ridge cabin, and it truly felt like a home away from home. April went above and beyond by decorating the cabin for our birthday celebration, making it the sweetest surprise. She even shuttled us back and forth to the pool on the golf cart, which made our stay even more enjoyable. From start to finish, everything was amazing. We can’t wait to come back! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
