Texas Yurt Haus

We just left today and stayed two days !!!
We have nothing negative to say but staying there literally helped our relationship. With having no tv we had a lot of time to talk and stayed up to watch the sun rise !

During the day between 1 & 4:30 it does get pretty hot . But it was nothing that made us miserable !

We did a long weekend away at the Texas Yurt Haus and had an amazing time. Communication was great and check in was easy. The location is great; less than 10 min drive to gruene hall. The room was very clean and comfortable. On the property we saw a few deer while sitting out on the patio which was cool. Overall it is a very relaxing place to stay for a romantic weekend but could easily be a fun place to bring the kids as well as there is plenty of room to play as well as a communal fire pit area. Good place for a romantic trip or to come with a group of friends as they have multiple yurts so you could rent the whole property.

The room was ok, smelled a little bit like plastic, which is different from the other yurts weve stayed at.

Also, be aware that not only is it noisy because of the constant train horns near the yurt, but because it is so close to the city, looking out the skylight can only see some lights.

The most disappointing thing is the constant train horns because it makes sleeping and relaxing extremely difficult. They offer earbuds but really defeats the purpose of this place.

It was clean and bed comfy but definitely not romantic or worth the price.

We stayed here the last weekend of 2024. Had the whole property to ourselves it was great. The deer every morning and every evening came right up to our Yurt. Two take aways that kept it from being 5 stars. The train is super loud when it comes through, we both sleep pretty heavy so it only woke us a time or two. Our Yurt had 4 towels and 2 wash rags. My wife called on Saturday to ask for 2 more wash rags and was told that is all we get. So she asked how many we should have. The lady responded 4 towels 4 wash rags, when my wife told her we had only 2 wash rags she changed her story to that we only get 4 towels and 2 wash rags. We were staying 2 nights and we aren't interested in washing our face with a wash rag we washed our butts with the night before. I drove to the nearest dollar store and bought a pack of them. Not the end of the world, but frustrating.

Stayed at a beautiful place called Texas Yurt Haus. Location is perfect, we felt tucked in the woods away from noise, but if we needed to go anywhere or do anything it was a 5 minute drive to get to Gruene Hall and anywhere we needed to be. The yurt we stayed in was beautiful and very welcoming. The host was very helpful and responsive.

My favorite part about the yurt, it had a clear dome on the very top. During our stay a thunderstorm rolled by, while we were laying in bed we got to see the storm and watch the sky move. We heard the rain drops, and got to see the lightning bolts. It was the coolest experience. Like our own natural noise machine. It was great!!

This is such a peaceful space, a structure that blended well with its scenery. The yurt was very comfy, clean and amenities were new and worked well. If you’re looking for some quiet time and needing a new adventure, I highly recommend this place. I’ll definitely will be coming back with a group of friends!
