This site felt nice and private but getting to it was tricky. It is downhill on a gravel track. The water hookup was ridiculous as it was at least 75 feet away, so we could only fill our tanks since we didn't have a hose long enough. No one followed the quiet rule after 10pm and the whole time we were there they blasted out country music. The main issue with this park is the ant problem. We learned a lesson about preparing for ants during a visit to this park. I should have read the reviews first about the ant problem. But, the views at this park are beautiful. The Verizon reception was absolutely amazing.

Beware of ANTS
Very quiet spot. Nice lake but a bit of litter unfortunately. Very sad that people don't take care not to trash the place. The host tried to keep it clean. Our site was on a steep incline and hard to get into. We and our neighbor had an ant infestation and had to make several trips into town to pick up ant baits.

We've enjoyed camping at Preston Bend for several seasons now. The sites are usually clean and well maintained and campers are usually very friendly and courteous. However, the 12 days we spent there over the July 4th holiday were not as pleasurable. We had neighbors that stayed up all night outside their RV being loud. The park clearly states "No Fireworks", but there were several campers shooting fireworks every single night and no one was there to monitor or enforce the rules. My dogs were terrified and traumatized every night. There used to be a nice couple that took care of the place and enforced the rules, but they are gone and no one is even manning the booth at the entrance. There were cigarette butts all over our campsite, which was a disappointment, especially since no one at our camp smokes. We moved to a second site a few days into our stay and there were dog feces, beer cans and trash all in the fire pit. We'll definitely be back because we love the campgrounds and have wonderful memories there, but I hope things will be a little more organized and monitored next time.

Overall it was a good experience. Security and cleanliness were down from previous years due to COVID.

Trash hadn’t been emptied in quite some time, and no one was available to help with an issue with our site we had.
