There were no camp hosts visible the entire time. Campsite behind us had at least 8 adults and 4 kids, and a teenager driving a pickup without a muffler down on the beach. Thankfully they were quiet at night.

When you go camping, Pat mayes is beautiful, safe and has great spots. But please have respect for other campers and be quiet at night, and don't let your dogs bark all night and no parties. It's rude and disrespectful to families trying to sleep. My grandkids had a good time and fun for little weekend trips. Nothing against the park, just some of the visitors need to thunk of others in the park at night.

a beautiful area! Large trees, plenty of shade, spacious sites. The sites are gravel but not level, some folks unhitched to lower their trailers. There are panels for corrals. They have 2 pens that share the center divider, that divider can be opened to make a bigger pen. The pens sit on a sand base so it's nice and soft. There are only about 5 double pens, so you could be sharing with a neighbor camper. There are water and electric hook up. Bring long hoses and a splitter unless you want to bucket your water or fill your trailer tank. The trails are super nice, no shoes required. Trails are mowed, wide and well-marked. I could not find a map of the trails. The lake of course is beautiful. There are motorboats on it. A vault toilet, male and female. A big garbage dumpster on the one end. The loop is narrow, but I had no problem navigating it with my trailer. Turning into the cut off where my camp site was (A07) I had to jig it a few times as the turn was narrow and there was a cut tree stump blocking my turn. I did make it in and then backing into my site took a bit because of the angle and trees. But I got in. (I have a 3 horse, 14ft short wall). My only BIG complaint and hence no 5 star, is the manure dump is too far away! Definitely bring a wagon to carry it. It is outside the loop on the side of the road, where the loop begins. There is a sign. I will for sure come back as it is really nice easy relaxing riding. Luckily close enough where I can do it in a day trip.

We use the equestrian trails and camp areas at Pat Mayse and absolutely love it. The camp spots are so peaceful and well maintained and we love the lake. Tim and Judy the camp hosts are outstanding
