Beautiful park with large Oak trees, large campsites with covered picnic tables, nice playground, swim area and beautiful lake. Oak Park has been well maintained. They’ve recently replaced old wooden covers over the picnic tables with new metal ones. The playground play structure is new and the campsites were clean. The sites along the lake are our favorites, however, they are not level. Just make sure you have plenty of leveling blocks. We love watching the fish jumping in the lake, the cranes, the American White Pelicans and the beautiful sunsets. The park hosts were very friendly and helpful. Our family has been camping here for 20 years. We brought our kids when they were little, and we are now bringing our grandkids. We’ve camped in several state parks all over Texas and Oak Park remains one of our favorites, especially in the fall.

We stayed in spot 28 with our roof top tent and loved it. View of the boat ramp and part of the lake. Also within walking distance to the bathrooms and the boat dock. The bathrooms were also kept clean as well as the rest of the park. We will definitely be staying here again.
